NBC is getting a jumpstart on pilot season.

The network has tapped Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia to star in its untitled dramedy from Galavant’s Dan Fogelman, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Also joining the ensemble drama are Justin Hartley, Sterling Brown and Ron Cephas Jones.

The hourlong dramedy is described as a unique ensemble that follows characters all born on the same day.

Ventimiglia will play Jack, an easygoing guy who is happily married to Rebecca, and soon-to?be father of triplets. Moore is set as Rebecca, Jack’s wife and best friend. She’s on the verge of giving birth to triplets, after having just moved into their new home in Pittsburg.[..]

The untitled dramedy landed at NBC following a bidding war. NBC’s plan is to hire a casting director shortly and film the pilot before year’s end.
